Lêfk-êjo Bî (/ʃiˈgëɪ/ /ˈɘʤo/ [random] [file]) is a subtropical Large Town located in the Tëomjinèna Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Lêfk-êjo Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Lêfk-êjo Bî was founded by Zlèbêv Trg̈mëmë, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Lêfk-êjo Bî has a yearly average temperature of 26°C (78°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 24°C (75°F). Lêfk-êjo Bî receives an average of 284 cm/y (111 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Lêfk-êjo Bî covers an area of nearly 8 km2 (3 mi2), and an average elevation of 3132 m (10275 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Lêfk-êjo Bî was founded durring the early 12th century in summer of the year 1139, by Zlèbêv Trg̈mëmë. The establishment of Lêfk-êjo Bî suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Lêfk-êjo Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Lêfk-êjo Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Lêfk-êjo Bî is buildings are arranged arround a network of narrow paverstone streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town rests behind a thin stone wall. The wall's design was likly directly copied from a castle's parmiter defences. It's simply that the arcatect made Lêfk-êjo Bî's wall substancialy thinner than a castle's walls. While the towers and gatehouses are adiquite, the obvious cost savings measure of making the walls drasticaly thinner reduces their ability to resist siege weapons greatly. The town's impressive-looking wall could fail at a critical moment in battle, and would likely not even resist a few bandits with improvised siege equipment. Lêfk-êjo Bî's budget oriented has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

Even the most brief look arround Lêfk-êjo Bî has a good chance of putting a church or shrine into the center of your view. The town is most certainly a god fearing community. It’s also definitely a god loving community. THe streetcornors are occupied by preachers, with the occasional intersection playing host to an actually friendly debate relating to the merits of various gods. Even the less popular as well as the less politically loved gods seem to have a space in Lêfk-êjo Bî, there’s even shrines to gods known to the region only through hearsay.

Civic Infrastructure

Lêfk-êjo Bî possesses a city-wide Aethary Link which provides Aethary access anywhere within its metropolitan. This allows citizens who can afford the relevant devices access in their places of work, and rarely homes.

Lêfk-êjo Bî has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Lêfk-êjo Bî. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Lêfk-êjo Bî's parks.

Lêfk-êjo Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Lêfk-êjo Bî.

Lêfk-êjo Bî has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Lêfk-êjo Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Lêfk-êjo Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Lêfk-êjo Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Lêfk-êjo Bî possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large Town. Lêfk-êjo Bî's grid is powered by a direct leyline tap.

Lêfk-êjo Bî possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. In spite of the Galvanic Grid, these lights continue to use their old fule sources to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Lêfk-êjo Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Lêfk-êjo Bî's natural decorations nor waterways.

Lêfk-êjo Bî has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Lêfk-êjo Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Lêfk-êjo Bî has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Lêfk-êjo Bî's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known primarily for its use of abstraction and simplicity. Clean lines, right angles, and primary colors characterized this aesthetic and art movement expressed via architecture and paintings. Its design ethos allows only primary colors and non-colors, only squares and rectangles, only straight and horizontal or vertical lines. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements. These seemingly impossible principals for an architectural style coalesces into structures which most experts find hard to put into words. It is not that their geometry is impossible, but rather the style's attempt at producing works only describable visually was most successful..

In Lêfk-êjo Bî during thunderstorms, with each flash of lightning, everyone sees different monsters from the corner of their eyes.

The Bat Swarm, Underworld near Lêfk-êjo Bî are known to be quite timid.

Lêfk-êjo Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves embarking on a group pilgrimage to channel Elven High Magic energies of tier 3 via mimery.

Economy

The following information was obtained via the Imperial Census Bureau as part of the Eyom Economic Outreach Program. It differs from Standard Imperial censuses in that many of Tom's citizens, regardless of culture, work in more than one occupation or hold more than a single job. Lêfk-êjo Bî's residents established a new industry (7813 % 6)+1 years ago, and it’s making them a great deal of profit. Old patterns of authority and wealth are being disrupted, and the old gentry are unlikely to be pleased about it. They may be trying to take over the industry, or they may have been the ones to enable it in the first place and are using it to crush the life out of any rival power bases. Outsiders might be playing a major role as well, and it could be they plot to siphon off the profits.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century the Kami ended a famine plaguing Lêfk-êjo Bî. One of Lêfk-êjo Bî's local festivals commemorates this miracle.
